The "Electrico 28" and Alfama



With a five minutes walk to the West, and just beneath the Cathedral of Sao Vicente da Fora, you reach the stop of the “Electrico 28”. This tram is included by the Rough Guide to the World as one of the 1000 most important travel experiences of the world and it takes you for a trip in slow motion across historical Lisbon. Where the 28 stops you are also already in the very heart of the Alfama, the historical Arab quarter of Lisbon where you may find a wide range of traditional and cosmopolitan eateries as well as the city’s best fado clubs.

Other connections​...



Five minutes to the South you may reach the station of Santa Apolonia (one of the three jey hubs of the citie) where you may find metros, busses and trams leading to all parts of the city and of the country.
 

In front of the station you will find also the harbor of Santa Apolonia, landing of most cruise ships reaching the city. 

Five minutes north you will reach Graça, a formerly working neighborhood which is today together with Sao Vicente da Fora and Alfama the new upcoming centre of Lisbon. 

The "thiefs'" market and the coffee shops...

Oyster Bay View is located in a side stree from the Campo de Santa Clara. In its gardens, just in the shadow of the National Pantheon  you may find a beautiful open aired coffee shop and a beautiful outdoors playground for the kids.

Every Saturday and Tuesday morning this area hosts the famous "Feira da Ladra", Lisbon's flee market, destination of buyers and travellers from all over the world. This is Lisbon's own Portobello Road. 

The Neigbourhood

Oyster Bay View is situated centrally in the parish of Sao Vicente da Fora. Built in the seventeeth century by the upper class of the Moors during their rule over Lisbon, this is one of the most typical neighborhoods of Lisbon, a experience of Portugal in a nutshell. From this area, which is squeezed in-between the famous Alfama and Graça,  you will have immediate access to most key attractions of the city.
